Samati Press is not a traditional publisher, nor is it a standard hybrid with specific packages for authors to choose from. Our goal is to abide by the highest professional standards of writing, editing and publishing, while nurturing and supporting the individual writer's own personal voice. That means our agreements and arrangements with authors we publish are individually tailored to that book and that author's vision, while adhering to our high publishing criteria.
We are a very small publishing company, so limit the number of projects we take in. We are not accepting any new manuscripts at this time. If you believe that you are nearing the time when you will need a publisher, you might want to send in a writing sample for editing. You will see how our editing works, and we will get a feel for your writing quality and style. If we both are pleased, we might be able to discuss a future date for publishing.
Samati Press has published a wide variety of books. We do not, however, publish either erotica or children's books. Erotica has a large following, but does not suit our publishing mission. Children's books require specialized skills, both for text and illustrations, and are best suited for publishers who are experts in that genre. If you need a publisher for your Erotica or Children's book, please send me a message (contact us), or via the "Let's Chat!" box, and we will try to provide you with a referral link.
In addition to publishing, we offer writing sample editing, and the creation of ISBN barcodes. Details and pricing are below.
Writing Sample Editing Up to 20 pages, $25
If you are interested in having a sample of your work reviewed and critiqued, this is perfect for you. Email up to 20 pages of your work to sharon@samatipress.com. Your sample MUST be in Times 12pt font, double spaced, with 1" margins all around. Your name and the title of the sample need to be in the top left header. Be sure to put the words "WRITING SAMPLE" in the subject line of your email. In the body, please provide a little information about the work that you are attaching. When we have finished with the written critique, we will contact you and bill you for $25. As soon as payment is received, we will return the edited sample to you.
Creation of ISBN Barcodes $15
If you have purchased your own ISBNs, but are balking at paying $25 each for barcodes, we can create and email your barcode to you for $15. Your barcode will look like one of the samples below. You can resize it as needed, and use it as you wish. We are using two templates for the sake of simplicity, and ordering is simple. Just send an email addressed to sharon@samatipress.com, and put the word "BARCODE" in the subject line of your email. In the body of the email, provide your ISBN number and the price of the book in the US. If you want the price included, your barcode will look like the sample below on the left. If you don't want to put a price on the book, your barcode will look like the sample below on the right. When your barcode is done, we will bill you for $15. As soon as your payment is received, we will email the barcode image to you.
